Introduction
Our client came to us with the requirement for real time tracking for a set of specific KPIs that require close monitoring, or else they faced being fined due to obligations in their industry. In this case, Power BI was best placed to use as the reporting system.
Our client did not have a data warehouse in place, therefore CSL created a solution that combined cloud-based data warehousing supported by Power BI reports.
We worked with their data to present CRM activity reporting in simple, easy to understand Power BI dashboards, which then expanded overtime.
Turning the challenge of a blank canvas into an opportunity
Our client had Veeva data but no real reporting on it. Due to the nature of their work, there were also very specific and stringent security requirements regarding their data.
Having no previous cloud presence meant they had to start from the ground up and seek providers that could not only deliver the reporting, but also setup a secure environment to house and transport their data.
That gave us the opportunity of a blank canvas to advise on what particular reports would be most useful, whilst adhering to their industry’s standards.
CSL's solution: innovative near real-time reporting in Power BI
CSL’s approach was to implement a modern data warehouse within Azure. This allowed us to create a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution.
We collaborated with the client data team to provide recommendations on setting up a high security data channel between Azure and their on-premise services.
With CSL’s technical expertise in Power BI, we delivered near real-time reporting. This enabled management to track critical KPIs on all usual platforms (mobile, web, tablet).

By implementing a highly secure and easily scalable cloud based system, CSL reduced costs for their client due to the redundancy of needing to maintain physical infrastructure.
Within the same project, we delivered near real-time reporting within Power BI. Our client’s feedback was overwhelmingly positive; as a direct result of our dashboards there was a positive change in data culture within the company, enabling them to make better business decisions on an everyday basis.
