Data is the key
The NHS operates in challenging times. ICBs and hospital trusts are under pressure to deliver better care for a rising population whilst suffering a real term cut to their budgets.
In order to meet these challenges, all available data must be used to generate actionable insights. The use of data in the NHS has the potential to improve patient care, reduce costs, and increase the efficiency of the healthcare system.
A free service for NHS organisations
We are proud to provide our NHS benchmarking tool to NHS organisations free of charge. This simple but effective tool uses Hospital Episodes Statistics (HES) data to provide insights into your NHS organisation, comparing its performance against other ICBs or trusts. The result is that best practice can be quickly adopted by your organisation, with the potential to transform performance in the short, medium and long term.
How does it work?
Once signed up for an account, users can subscribe to alerts across 2 metric types: Average Cost of Spell and Average Length of Stay, for multiple Health Resource Groups and NHS organisations.
Organisations can be monitored at ICB or trust level, with the ability to quickly select all practices within a specific ICB:
Once the subscriptions are selected, users receive performance comparison reports showing their selected organisations performance on a metric over time, compared to similar organisations and the national average:
By clicking the email symbol at the top of the reports, the report can also be shared directly via emailed link.
